November 6, 2012 Filed Under: Productivity

Everyone has a different idea as to what success means, but at the same time everyone wants to be successful. Time management and productivity are two concepts related to success. Looking at the successful people around us we notice that most of them are organized people who value their time. What makes them successful is something we cannot see on the outside. GTD – Tips to Review

October 25, 2012 Filed Under: Productivity

Another important aspect of the GTD process is the ‘Review’ phase. This is where we do a periodical audit of our complete GTD system going through all the action items captured, making it current by adding what all is not captured yet, and planning for the week ahead.

What to review?

  • Physical items: post its, memos, articles, receipts, letters, notes, manuals, supplies, decorations, utilities, appliances, areas/places to be cleaned/organized, CDs, DVDs, tapes, camera, closets, tools, luggage, computers, basically any physical item which might have an action assigned to it.

If all we have is 24 hours, how do we cram all this work into it? How can we make the best use of the 24 hours given to us? In other words, how can we be most productive?

GTD – Tips to Organize

August 19, 2012 Filed Under: Productivity

Organizing means identifying various buckets to store your actions and support material.

For Non- actionable items:

  • Trash: If something is determined as unnecesary to your workflow, trash it.
  • Someday/Maybe: – The incubation bucket – If not sure when you want to get something done – save it here. Ex: want to learn guitar? But not sure when – put it here.
  • Reference: Any information/documents/material you want to store as reference, put it here. Ex: project notes from the last client meeting (which might be necessary for the next meeting).
